    Sectional Sports Results


    NRW’s Garrett Hoyt and Sodus’ Will Fisher both carded 88’s to share the top spot in the county’s sectional qualifier tournament held in Macedon at Blue Heron Hills Golf Club. Red Creek’s Derek Pitts shot a 94 to also qualify for sectional play.

    Last Saturday, at the Section V tournament held at Mendon Golf Club, Sodus’ Will Fisher moved on to the super sectionals after shooting a 82. Fisher tied for 17th overall. The top 20 finishers plus ties move on. Red Creek’s Derek Pitts finished with a 88 while North Rose-Wolcott’s Garrett Hoyt came in with a 96.

    Boys and Girls Track and Field

    Red Creek’s Willie Meyer And Chloe Weaver brought home with individual victories at the Wayne-Finger Lakes held on Saturday at Penn Yan Academy. Meyer won the 110 hurdles and Weaver placed first in the 3,000 meter run.

    North Rose-Wolcott’s Hannah Pendleton took first in the pentathlon.


    NRW 2, Dansville 1

    In Class B quarterfinal action, North Rose-Wolcott’s Dustin Reed threw the game of his career as he pitched a no-hitter to lead the No.3 seeded Cougars(13-4) over No.6 Dansville 2-1. Reed struck out 10 while teammate Steven Geffert led the offense with two safeties.

    Sodus 15, Red Creek 1

    Daniel Johnson led No.2 Sodus over No.15 Red Creek 15-1. Johnson single handedly beat the Rams with his arm and bat as he allowed one hit and struck out nine while slapping three hits, driving in two run and crossing the plate three times.


    Leroy 15, NRW 0 (6)

    In Class B2 action, Ally Uberty fired a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts as No.3 Leroy rolled past No.6 NRW 15-0. Uberty also hit a grand slam to provide all the offense Leroy would need. The Lady Cougars finished their season 10-10, 10-6.

    No. 4 Letchworth 7, No. 13 Red Creek 0
