Disappointed in Local Governance

    By on December 2, 2015

Tonight, Nov. 17, 2015, I attended my first Town of Wolcott Board Meeting with my Grandpa. Sad to say it was not the best experience I’ve had with board meetings. (I have attended some board meetings at the school.)

I’m a junior in high school, and in my Government class, I was taught that at a board meeting, the meeting is called to session by the supervisor, then the pledge is said, and then the meeting goes on from there.

Tonight the meeting’s tentative agenda says, “Supervisor Park called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.” Ms. Park started to go over some things on the agenda before it was 6:00, and the Pledge was NOT said before the meeting went into Executive Session.

My grandpa and I live about 10 minutes from Town, and we got home at 6:10. Sorry to say I’m very disappointed by the way things went tonight.
